Back in business, I have also some great news. What got me eventually out of the bathroom is work. Go to the publishing house, work with the team, work on book formatting.
I’ll make a crazy run to publish “Drakon Book I: The Sieve” on Amazon by the end of June.
Ooops, I failed, I have to remind myself that at age 48 you get a lot of unexpected delays from real life when you try to be a writer. We are back to a September deadline.
Work —writing, editing, blogging, dreaming— is the power that drives me rather than depress me further. In that way I am the luckiest person in the world today. The super successful people always advise you to “do what you are good at, don’t follow your passion”. Cattle heading for a cliff are following their passion. The new wisdom is that “follow your passion” is a stupid idea. But some of us just won’t listen. Anyway, writing is not just my passion. I am also good at it. Or so I think. Same thing. Perception is reality.
I’ll have more news about the book and more stuff soon. If I ever get to work.
Off to work.
In other news (not news really): A quote from Kurt Vonnegut: “Here is a lesson in creative writing. First rule: Do not use semicolons. They are transvestite hermaphrodites representing absolutely nothing. All they do is show you’ve been to college.”
I broke that rule already in the journal. I’ve been to college. PhD! Engineering. A lot of siege machines in Drakon.
